Closet organizers for small closets are a relatively new phenomenon. Historically, popular wisdom found that small closets did not require much organization. The contents of such small closets were fairly minimum and accordingly there was little to organize.
Small closets tended to be for towels and sheets and linens etc and there was very little organizational help required. The towels and sheets would generally be folded and stacked. Often people would create their own small closet organization system by adding some extra shelving or hooks into the closet. Small plastic bins were also often added. The small plastic bins provided a great way to store like items together and making maximum use of the vertical space in the closet. Plastic bins are a great idea for storing things such as hair accessories. Brushes, clips, elastics, barrettes, hair gel etc can be stored together in a plastic bin and pulled out as a group when needed.
It is now possible to find closet organizers for small closets. In fact, it is now possible to find closet organizers for any sized closet. This industry has exploded recently and the market has hundreds of new products to help with every type of closet organization.
One of my favorite small organizers is a battery holder that can be affixed to the back or side wall of a small closet. This organizer has special slots for most of the commonly used household batteries ranging from watch batteries to triple AAA. This brilliant organizer also has a small battery test strip which allows you to test the batteries. Most people end up holding on to batteries that no longer work because they do not have an efficient way of testing them. This battery organizer and tester can be found online or at many department stores.
